Abstraksi
Abstract (English)
Introduction : Infant mortality with LBW is one indicator that affects the health status of children, to prevent infant mortality it is necessary to handle LBW appropriately. Kangaroo method care is one of the alternative efforts to overcome the problem of LBW. The increase in LBW weight as a result of the kangaroo method of care that has been done by many researchers, because it is a physiological aspect that is measured to monitor the growth of LBW. This study aims to explain the outcomes of LBW care with the kangaroo method and standard care methods or conventional care. Method: The method used is a literary review obtained from 3 databases namely PubMed, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. Keywords used in the literature search: in the international journal "Kangaroo Mother Care AND Low Birth Weight AND Weight Gain" or "Kangaroo Care AND Premature Infants AND Physiological Parameters", in the Indonesian journal "Metode Kanguru and Berat Badan". Results and Analysis : From 13 journals, it was found that LBW weight gain with the standard kangaroo method was 15 g/Kg/day, LBW weight gain with standard care methods was still below 15 g/Kg/day, and seen from the amount of weight gain, LBW weight gain with the kangaroo method 2 times greater than the LBW with the standard care method. Conclusion: Changes in LBW weight gain were greater in kangaroo care than standard or conventional care.
