Pendahuluan: ASI eksklusif adalah makanan terbaik bagi bayi usia 0-6 bulan. Cakupan ASI eksklusif secara nasional maupun global masih belum mencapai target. Dampak yang timbul akibat tidak diberikannya ASI eksklusif merambah sektor kesehatan, finansial keluarga, sampai ekonomi global. Mendukung keberhasilan dari pemberian ASI eksklusif salah satunya dalam bentuk mengetahui karakteristik ibu sebagai orang terdekat dan paling berpengaruh, sehingga muncul kesadaran untuk memberikan ASI eksklusif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik keberhasilan ibu dalam memberikan ASI eksklusif pada bayi usia 6-12 bulan. Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan mengulas jurnal nasional dan internasional, yang berasal dari tiga database, yaitu Google Scholar, PubMed, dan Science Direct yang terakreditasi Sinta Ristekbrin atau terindeks Scimago dengan rentang tahun 2016-2020. Hasil: Dari 11 jurnal ditemukan kesamaan karakteristik ibu, yaitu dari faktor internal terdapat 7 faktor pengetahuan dan 4 faktor sikap; dari faktor eksternal terdapat 5 faktor dukungan tenaga kesehatan, 3 faktor dukungan orang terdekat atau keluarga, dan 6 faktor pekerjaan ibu. Simpulan: Keberhasilan ibu dalam memberikan ASI eksklusif berhubungan dengan faktor pengetahuan, sikap dukungan tenaga kesehatan, dukungan orang terdekat atau keluarga, dan pekerjaan ibu.

Introduction: Exclusive breastfeeding is the best food for infants aged 0-6 months. The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding nationally and globally has not yet reached the target. The impact arising from not giving exclusive breastfeeding has penetrated the health sector, family finances, and the global economy. Supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding, one of which is knowing the characteristics of the mother as the closest and most influential person, so that awareness arises to give exclusive breastfeeding. This study aims to determine the characteristics of the mother's success in giving exclusive breastfeeding to infants 6-12 months. Methods: The method used is literature review by reviewing national and international journals, which come from three databases, namely Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct which are accredited by Sinta Ristekbrin or indexed by Scimago with a range of 2016-2020. Results: From 11 journals found similarities in maternal characteristics, namely from internal factors there are 8 knowledge factors and 5 attitude factors; From external factors, there are 5 factors that support health workers, 3 factors that support the closest person or family, and 6 factors of mother's work. Conclusion: The mother's success in giving exclusive breastfeeding is related to factors of knowledge, attitude of support from health workers, support from close people or family, and mother's work.
