tipe 2 mengalami gangguan arteri ringan hingga sedang. Setelah dilakukan senam
Apabila dilakukan
secara teratur maka akan mengurangi timbulnya komplikasi.
Abstract (English)
Introduction : Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease characterized by high
blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) that occurs due to impaired insulin secretion.
Management that is not effective in treating DM will cause complications such as
peripheral arterial disease and sensory nerve neuropathy. One of the tests that can be
done to determine the condition of the lower extremity blood vessels is the Ankle
Brachial Index and the Monofilament test. Various interventions were carried out to
prevent diabetes complications, one of which was physical exercise in the form of
diabetic foot exercises.
Objective : Explain the effect of diabetic foot exercise on the Ankle Brachial Index
(ABI) and monofilament test in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methods : This study was conducted using the Literature Review method.Search
literature using the keyword MeSH. Ten articles were retrieved from the PubMed,
Science Direct and Google Scholar databases. The ten articles were in accordance
with the inclusion criteria of the PICOS framework and then a quality assessment was
carried out using the JBI critical appraisal tool. The articles are then analyzed one by
one and then discussed to draw conclusions.
Results : Based on the analysis of 6 articles on the Ankle Brachial Index and 4
articles on the monofilament test, it was found that the majority of patients with type
2 diabetes mellitus had mild to moderate arterial disorders. After the diabetic foot
exercise, the patient experienced an increase in the ABI and Monofilament Test
values as evidenced by the p value < 0.05.
Conclusion : Diabetic foot exercise has an effect on the ankle brakhial index and
monofilament test in patients with type 2 diabetes melitus. If done regularly it will
reduce the incidence of complications.
